Chris wormer charlie daniels band songs

When Chris Wormer hits the CEFCU Center Stage with the Charlie Daniels Band Saturday night, the 42-year-old guitarist should feel right at home.

Born in Peoria and raised in Bartonville, the Limestone High School grad attended Illinois Central College, where he played in the ICC Jazz Band.

Wormer was introduced to music at an early age while growing up in central Illinois.

"My father worked at Caterpillar and played in a number of different bands while my mother taught music in the Pekin school district," he recalled in a telephone interview.

"I played in the local band, Tantrum, that turned into the Megasonics," said Wormer, who credits his Peoria guitar teacher, Bob Applegate (of Applegate and Company) with furthering his musical appreciation.

"He gave me the love for it.

It's the reason I'm playing the guitar today," he said.
